Program: Modular Cooling Systems for “Cloud Scale” Data Centres: Design and Delivery of Liquid to Rack (LTR) Distribution Systems.
The demand for remote computation and cloud storage has increased substantially over the last decade. This demand has led Cloud Scale providers to rely on modular deployment and cooling design flexibility in modern data centers as it relates to Technology Cooling Systems (TCS). With an evolving eco-system, ASHRAE is partnering with the Open Compute Project (OCP) for guidance on design on delivery on these projects.
This presentation will showcase current practices being developed under the OCP including:
• Modular TCS design for adaptability to evolving rack power densities, ΔT shifts, and multi-megawatt scale deployments.
• Pipe material selection & reliability engineering, including thermal movement control, embrittlement avoidance, and connection methodologies
• Fluid quality management, including filtration to 25 μm for microchannel and cold-plate performance, chemical compatibility, and sustainable off-site flushing processes.
• Loop & branch line alignment to electrical bus capacities, optimizing capacity utilization while supporting concurrent maintainability.
• Structural integration of overhead, underfloor, and skid-based distribution systems in compliance with ASHRAE TC 9.9 and global data center standards.

Aleksei Myroniuk helps data centers stay cool, literally. In his role at Victaulic, he focuses on liquid-cooled ITE deployments that prevent today’s high-density and AI-driven workloads from overheating. He is passionate about transforming complex challenges such as modular TCS design, pipe movement control, and ultra-clean water loops into solutions that are efficient, reliable, and future-ready.
