Hi OVC!

Thank you for visiting the Membership Promotion page of our website. I can imagine you might be here to learn a bit more about what it means to be an ASHRAE member. Being an ASHRAE member is a sign of your curiosity for the industry you work in, and your dedication to advancing your work. ASHRAE members come from every corner for the HVAC and construction industry and they work together to achieve their mission: to serve humanity by advancing the arts and sciences of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and their allied fields.

There are many benefits to you for being part of this society:

1. Monthly ASHRAE Journal and quarterly HPB Magazine.

2. Qualifying members may select to receive one complimentary ASHRAE Standard (PDF) or the upcoming ASHRAE Handbook (PDF), annually.

3. Automatic 25% discount in the Bookstore.

4. Access to the ASHRAE Technology Portal, offering Journal Articles, Research Reports, Transaction Papers, Conference Seminars, ASHRAE Handbooks, and more.

5. Eligible first-year new members receive complimentary one-year subscription to Handbook Online which includes all four of the most recent ASHRAE Handbooks.

6. Access to thousands of research reports available from Science and Technology for the Built Environment.

7. Discounted subscription to complete online library from the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR)

Being a member of the Ottawa Valley Chapter has its benefits too! The OVC meets on the third Tuesday of the month between September and May to host technical sessions, program meetings and social hours. These are great events to network with your local industry and keep up to date on advancing technologies and ideas. The OVC also hosts many social events throughout the year including golf, bowling and curling. To be part of all of these events, make sure you follow the chapter on LinkedIn and keep you contact information up to date on our website (click where it says “Join Chapter or Pay Fees”).

See you around, OVC!

Hello everyone,

This year I attended my second CRC. Although it was virtual again, it was another great experience. Many great discussion topics were circulated at this workshop. A question that was brought up, which I challenge you to ask yourself is, “What opportunities and learning experiences would I have missed out on if it weren’t for ASHRAE?” Even if you don’t have a concrete response right now, you will hopefully be more equipped to answer this question at our year end meeting in April.

Although we will still be offering the meetings virtually, we are very happy that we are now back in person as well. If you do happen to make it to a meeting, please come find me to say hello. I am eager to see some new faces after not seeing too many for way too long. I look forwarding to catching up with as many of you as possible over this ASHRAE year.

Thank you.
