Women in ASHRAE is now DEI: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion!

ASHRAE is committed to providing a welcoming environment that is inclusive and acknowledges the value of diversity. What started as the Women in ASHRAE initiative has now grown into the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee which operates with the following goals:

  1. Work with the MP Committee, Student Activities and YEA Committees to attract and retain diverse members that represent the communities within your chapter,
  2. Coordinate with CTTC to provide programs and organize activities focused on attracting and retaining diverse members from all segments of the industry.
  3. Promote inclusion and a diverse volunteer experience.
  4. Create a network for professional growth.
  5. Build diversity awareness and sensitivity within the Chapter.

Although quite a new committee, it is clear that DEI not only fuels better, more creative, and more thoughtful ideas, solutions and strategies for the chapter but also in all aspects of the community. ASHRAE respects and welcomes all people regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, physical appearance, thought styles, religion, nationality, socioeconomic status, belief systems, sexual orientation or education.

Looking forward to seeing everybody again this upcoming year!
