ASHRAE Technical Tour – Ādisōke Library

September 25 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm
Event Description:
The Ottawa Valley Chapter’s Student Activities, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, and Young Engineers in ASHRAE Committees would like to invite everyone to a rare behind-the-scenes technical tour of the Ādisōke Library (led by PCL Construction).

Located in Le Breton Flats, construction of this ambitious facility began in 2023. Spanning five floors and more than 20,100 square meters, Ādisōke will become the new home of both the Ottawa Public Library and Library and Archives Canada.Beyond its architectural significance, the facility presents a fascinating showcase of modern building systems. With its large scale, complex occupancy requirements, and demanding environmental conditions for both people and archival collections, the mechanical systems are an essential part of the building’s design.

This tour offers a rare opportunity to get an inside look at the HVAC systems, mechanical infrastructure, and the engineering and construction challenges before its grand opening and gain insight into the mechanical systems behind Ādisōke, one of Ottawa’s most significant new buildings.

Limited spots available. Any profits from this event will be donated to Canadian Association for Girls in Science.

Please arrive promptly at 2:30pm to ensure you depart with the rest of the tour! The tour will begin at 3pm sharp. Non-member guests are welcome.

More Info:
Paid parking is available. Please also note that there will be a significant amount of walking due to the building’s size. Steel-toe boots are not required. No food or drinks allowed (sealed water bottles permitted).
